Frequently Asked Questions
Before Your Treatment
What can I expect at my first appointment?
At your first session, we’ll have a quick chat about your needs, any areas of discomfort, and what you’d like to get from your treatment. Your session is then tailored to you helping your body to hold space, release tension, and heal in a way that feels right for you.
Where are you based?
Treatments take place in a private garden retreat a calm, cosy treatment space set away from the main house, designed to help you switch off and fully relax.
Is the treatment space completely quiet?
The garden retreat is a peaceful space, but as it’s set within a residential area, you may occasionally hear gentle background sounds (such as a lawn mower, dogs, or general day-to-day activity). Most clients find they quickly settle and fully relax during their treatment.
Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is available. Full details and directions will be provided when you book your appointment.
Should I shower before my appointment?
For the best experience, it’s recommended to arrive freshly showered where possible. Clean, warm skin allows the oils and products used during your treatment to absorb more effectively, helping you get the most out of your session.
Are there toilet facilities available?
The garden retreat is a self-contained treatment space, so bathroom facilities aren’t available. Please arrive prepared so you can fully relax and enjoy your session.
Do I need to prepare anything else before my appointment?
Just wear comfortable clothing and arrive well hydrated. If you have any injuries or medical conditions, please let me know before your session.
During Your Treatment
What should I wear?
You can undress to your level of comfort. You will always be professionally draped with towels, and only the area being worked on will be exposed.
What pressure do you use?
Treatments are tailored to you, using light to firm pressure where needed. While I don’t offer deep tissue or sports massage, I work in a way that effectively releases tension while still allowing your body to relax.
Will the massage be painful?
Massage should never feel unbearable. Some areas may feel more sensitive if they’re holding tension, but I will always work within your comfort level and check in with you throughout.
Can I talk during the session?
Of course — this is your time. Some people prefer to chat, others prefer quiet relaxation. You can relax in whatever way feels best for you.
After Your Treatment
Will I feel sore afterwards?
You may feel a little sore after your treatment this is completely normal and usually settles within 24–48 hours.
What should I do after my massage?
Drink plenty of water, take it easy, and allow your body time to rest and reset.
How often should I have a treatment?
This depends on your goals. For general wellbeing, every few weeks works well. For specific tension or ongoing issues, more regular sessions may be recommended.
